Description
5-Hydroxy-DPAT hydrobromide is a potent and selective dopamine D2 receptor agonist. Radiolabeled [11C]5-OH-DPAT has been investigated as a PET ligand for imaging the high-affinity state of dopamine D2/D3 receptors.
D2/D3 receptor agonist ligands are valuable tools for studying dopamine receptor coupling, receptor occupancy and active-state receptor conformations. 5-Hydroxy-DPAT hydrobromide is particularly relevant for dopaminergic neuroimaging and receptor-state pharmacology research.
5-Hydroxy-DPAT hydrobromide is the racemate of the more active (S)-5-Hydroxy-DPAT hydrobromide (Axon 1008), and less active (R)-5-Hydroxy-DPAT hydrobromide (Axon 1007).
