7-Hydroxy-DPAT hydrobromide
- 7-OH-DPAT- Parent CAS: 74938-11-7
- Soluble in DMSO
- MF: C16H25NO.HBr
- MW: 328.29
Description
7-Hydroxy-DPAT hydrobromide is a dopamine D3 receptor agonist with reported preference for D3 over D2, D4 and D1 receptors. It is a standard tool for probing D3 receptor-mediated signaling and dopaminergic receptor subtype selectivity.
D3 receptors are implicated in reward, motivation and neuropsychiatric signaling. 7-Hydroxy-DPAT hydrobromide is useful in assays that require preferential activation of D3 receptors while comparing responses across dopamine receptor subtypes.
7-Hydroxy-DPAT hydrobromide is the racemate of the more active (R)-(+)-7-Hydroxy-DPAT hydrobromide (Axon 1013), and less active (S)-(-)-7-Hydroxy-DPAT hydrochloride (Axon 1014).
Key Features
- Preferential dopamine D3 receptor agonist
- Reported selectivity profile: D3 > D2 >> D4 and D1
- DPAT-related aminotetralin ligand
- Useful for receptor subtype selectivity studies
Applications
- D3 receptor pharmacology
- Dopamine receptor subtype profiling
- Reward and motivation pathway research
- GPCR signaling and functional assay development
