Description
BH3I 1 (BHI-1) is a cell-permeable Bcl-xL antagonist that targets anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 family proteins and promotes mitochondrial apoptosis in susceptible tumor cells.
Bcl-2 family proteins regulate mitochondrial outer-membrane permeabilization and caspase activation. BH3I 1 is used to study apoptosis priming, Bcl-xL-dependent survival and the pharmacology of BH3-mimetic anticancer strategies.
