Description
S 12 is a survivin inhibitor that alters spindle formation, disrupts metaphase progression and induces mitotic arrest at the G2/M stage followed by cell death. It inhibits tumor cell proliferation and tumor growth independently of p53 status.
Survivin/BIRC5 is an inhibitor-of-apoptosis protein with roles in chromosome segregation, cytokinesis and cancer cell survival. S 12 is relevant for studying survivin-dependent mitosis and apoptosis resistance in oncology models.
