Description
HMR 1098 is a ATP-sensitive potassium (KATP) channel blocker that inhibits Kir6.2/SUR1-composed KATP channels.
KATP channels couple cellular metabolic state to membrane excitability in pancreatic, cardiac and smooth muscle tissues. HMR 1098 is useful for studying KATP channel closure, potassium efflux and metabolic-electrical coupling.
