Description

(±)-BMS 204352 is the racemic form of BMS 204352 (Axon 1112), a potassium channel opener that activates large-conductance Ca2+-activated K+ (BK/KCa1.1, Maxi-K) channels.

BK channel activation hyperpolarizes cells and regulates neuronal excitability, smooth muscle tone and neuroprotective responses. The racemate contains the more active S-(+)-enantiomer and the less active R-(-)-enantiomer.
