Description
VU 29 is a potent and selective metabotropic glutamate receptor 5 positive allosteric modulator with a reported EC50 value of 9 nM at rat mGlu5.
VU 29 binds to the MPEP allosteric site and potentiates glutamate-dependent mGlu5 signaling without directly competing at the orthosteric site. It is used to study synaptic plasticity, NMDA receptor coupling and cognition-related glutamatergic pathways.
