Description
CP 101606 mesylate (Traxoprodil) is a potent and selective GluN2B-containing NMDA receptor antagonist that acts at an allosteric site rather than the glutamate recognition site. It is a water-soluble salt of CP101606 (Axon 2254).
Traxoprodil preferentially reduces GluN2B-dependent excitatory transmission while sparing other NMDA receptor subtypes. It is used to study excitotoxicity, synaptic plasticity, pain and GluN2B-targeted neuropharmacology.
