Description
PD184352 (CI-1040) is a potent, selective and non-competitive MEK inhibitor that blocks MEK activation and downstream ERK1/2 signaling. PD184352 was one of the first highly selective MEK inhibitors developed and remains a widely used tool compound for investigating the MAPK/ERK signaling pathway.
The MEK/ERK pathway regulates cell proliferation, differentiation, survival, and developmental signaling and is frequently dysregulated in cancer. PD184352 effectively suppresses MAPK signaling and has been extensively used in oncology, signal transduction, and stem cell research. In combination with SU5402 (Axon 1667) and CHIR99021 (Axon 1386), PD184352 forms the conventional 3i stem cell culture system (Axon 2129), which supports mouse embryonic stem cell (mESC) self-renewal and maintenance of pluripotency under defined culture conditions. PD184352 also served as the lead compound for the development of PD0325901 (Axon 1408).
