Description
Pifithrin-α is an inhibitor of p53 protein; reversibly blocks p53-dependent transcriptional activation and apoptosis; protects against DNA damage-induced apoptosis downstream of mitochondria independent of p53. Pifithrin-α is unstable in vitro and is rapidly converted to Pifithrin-β which is available as Axon 3051.
