Description
ML213 (CID 3111211) is a potent, selective and brain-penetrant opener of Kv7.2 (KCNQ2) and Kv7.4 (KCNQ4) potassium channels, with EC50 values of 230 nM and 510 nM, respectively. It enhances voltage-gated potassium current and promotes membrane hyperpolarization.
ML213 is useful for separating KCNQ2- and KCNQ4-mediated physiology from other Kv7 channel subtypes. It is used in electrophysiological and functional studies of neuronal excitability, vascular and smooth-muscle tone, auditory signaling and channel-gating mechanisms.
