Description
ICA-069673 is a selective opener of neuronal Kv7.2/Kv7.3 (KCNQ2/KCNQ3) potassium channels with a reported EC50 value of 0.69 µM. It displays approximately 20-fold selectivity for heteromeric Kv7.2/Kv7.3 channels over Kv7.3/Kv7.5 and acts through voltage-sensor-dependent channel modulation.
ICA-069673 shifts channel activation to more hyperpolarized potentials and enhances Kv7.2-containing currents, thereby reducing neuronal excitability. Compared with retigabine (Axon 1525), it shows stronger subtype preference for KCNQ2 over KCNQ3 and is useful for studying Kv7 channel gating and seizure-related neuronal activity.
