Description
Celecoxib is a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2/PTGS2) inhibitor with reported IC50 values of 0.04 μM for COX-2 and 15 μM for COX-1.
COX-2 catalyzes prostaglandin production during inflammation, pain and tissue injury. Celecoxib is a benchmark COX-2-selective NSAID for studying prostaglandin biology, inflammatory signaling and COX isoform selectivity.
