Description
RITA (NSC652287) is a small-molecule p53 pathway activator reported to disrupt p53-MDM2 interaction and reactivate p53-dependent transcriptional responses. It promotes p53-mediated cell-cycle arrest and apoptosis in suitable tumor models.
The p53-MDM2 axis is a central tumor suppressor pathway controlling DNA damage responses, apoptosis and cellular senescence. RITA is useful for studying pharmacological p53 activation and MDM2-dependent regulation in oncology research.
