LDN 193189 hydrochloride
- Parent CAS: 1062368-24-4
- Soluble in water and DMSO
- MF: C25H22N6.2HCl
- MW: 479.4
Description
LDN-193189 is a highly potent BMP signaling inhibitor that selectively targets BMP type I receptors ALK2 and ALK3 with IC50 values of 5 nM and 30 nM respectively. LDN-193189 effectively blocks BMP pathway signaling and downstream SMAD phosphorylation.
LDN193189 is widely used in stem cell differentiation research and demonstrates significant in vivo bioactivity with therapeutic potential in treating fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP), preventing abnormal ectopic bone growth, and in studies on non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
LDN193189 hydrochloride is the preferred salt form, offering superior solubility in aqueous solutions and DMSO compared to the free base, making it easier to prepare stock solutions for cell culture applications.
