Description

ML 351 is a potent and selective 12/15-lipoxygenase inhibitor with an IC50 value of 200 nM against human 12/15-LOX and greater than 250-fold selectivity over related lipoxygenase isozymes. It protects neuronal HT22 cells from oxidative glutamate toxicity and reduces infarct size in mouse ischemic stroke models.

12/15-LOX contributes to lipid oxidation, oxidative cell death and ischemic neuronal injury. ML 351 is useful for studying lipoxygenase-dependent neurotoxicity and lipid-peroxidation mechanisms in stroke and inflammatory disease research.
