CGS 21680 hydrochloride is a highly potent and selective adenosine A2A receptor agonist with a Ki value of 27 nM.
A2A receptors stimulate cAMP production and regulate vascular tone, striatal neurotransmission, immune-cell activity and inflammatory signaling. CGS 21680 is a standard agonist for activating A2A receptor pathways.
