4-Methylhistamine dihydrochloride
- Parent CAS: 36507-31-0
- Soluble in water and DMSO
- MF: C6H11N3.2HCl
- MW: 198.09
Description
4-Methylhistamine dihydrochloride is a potent and selective histamine H4 receptor agonist that exihibits a high binding affinity with a Ki value of 7 nM and >100 fold selectivity for the H4 receptor over other histamine receptor subtypes (H1, H2, H3).
H4 receptors are enriched in immune cells and regulate chemotaxis, cytokine responses, pruritus and inflammatory signaling. 4-Methylhistamine is a useful agonist for studying H4 receptor function in immunopharmacology.
Key Features
- Potent selective H4 receptor agonist
- Activates histamine H4 receptor signaling
- Relevant to immune-cell chemotaxis and inflammation
- Useful for histamine receptor subtype profiling
Applications
- H4 receptor functional assays
- Immune cell migration studies
- Inflammation and pruritus pathway research
- Histamine receptor selectivity studies
