Description
Sunepitron hydrochloride is a multimodal CNS ligand reported to act as a serotonin 5-HT1A autoreceptor agonist, alpha-2 adrenergic antagonist and dopamine D2 receptor agonist.
Combined serotonergic, adrenergic and dopaminergic pharmacology is relevant to the regulation of mood, anxiety and monoamine neurotransmission. Sunepitron can be applied in CNS receptor-profiling studies and models that assess interactions among monoamine systems. Sunepitron hydrochloride is the preferred water-soluble salt form.
