WAY 208466 dihydrochloride is a potent and highly selective serotonin 5-HT6 receptor agonist with an EC50 value of 7.3 nM.
5-HT6 receptors are CNS GPCRs involved in neurotransmitter release, cognition and affective behavior. WAY 208466 increases cortical GABA levels in reported models and is useful for studying 5-HT6 receptor activation in neuropsychiatric pharmacology.
