Description
Vildagliptin (NVP-LAF237) is a potent, selective and orally bioavailable DPP4 inhibitor with reported IC50 values of 2.3 nM for rat plasma DPP4 and 2.7 nM for human plasma DPP4.
DPP4 inhibition prolongs the activity of incretin hormones such as GLP-1 and GIP, supporting glucose-dependent insulin secretion. Vildagliptin is a reference compound for studying incretin pharmacology and metabolic regulation in diabetes models.
