Description
CP 471474 is a matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) inhibitor with high potency against MMP-2 and MMP-13 and broader activity across MMP-1, MMP-3 and MMP-9. Reported IC50 values are 1170, 0.7, 16, 13 and 0.9 nM for MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3, MMP-9 and MMP-13 respectively.
MMPs regulate extracellular matrix turnover, inflammation, tissue remodeling and disease-associated proteolysis. CP 471474 has been used to study ventricular remodeling after myocardial infarction and emphysematous injury after cigarette-smoke exposure.
