Description
4μ8C (4mu8C) is a potent and selective IRE1α RNase inhibitor with a reported IC50 value of 60 nM.
IRE1α is an endoplasmic reticulum stress sensor that mediates XBP1 mRNA splicing and regulated IRE1-dependent decay of RNA substrates. 4μ8C blocks substrate access to the IRE1α RNase active site, enabling selective suppression of IRE1-dependent unfolded protein response outputs.
Key Features
- Selective IRE1α RNase inhibitor
- IC50: 60 nM
- Blocks XBP1 mRNA splicing and IRE1-mediated RNA degradation
- Useful for unfolded protein response and ER stress studies
Applications
- IRE1α pathway pharmacology
- XBP1 splicing assays
- ER stress and unfolded protein response research
- RIDD and RNA-processing studies
