Torin 1
- Limited soluble in DMSO
- MF: C35H28F3N5O2
- MW: 607.62
Description
Torin 1 is a highly potent, selective and ATP-competitive mTOR inhibitor with reported IC50 values of 2 nM for mTORC1 and 10 nM for mTORC2.
mTOR integrates nutrient, growth-factor and energy signals to control protein translation, autophagy, metabolism and cell growth. Torin 1 is widely used to achieve catalytic inhibition of both mTOR complexes and to distinguish mTOR kinase activity from rapamycin-sensitive effects.
Key Features
- ATP-competitive mTOR kinase inhibitor
- IC50: 2 nM for mTORC1 and 10 nM for mTORC2
- Inhibits both rapamycin-sensitive and rapamycin-insensitive mTOR outputs
- Highly selective over PI3K in cellular assays
Applications
- mTORC1 and mTORC2 signaling studies
- Autophagy and nutrient-sensing pathway research
- Protein translation and 4E-BP/S6K phosphorylation assays
- Cancer metabolism and cell-growth models
