Description
RO 25-6981 maleate is a potent, highly selective, and activity-dependent NMDA receptor antagonist that specifically targets the GluN2B (formerly NR2B) subunit, with IC50 values of approximately 6-9 nM compared to up to 52μM for GluN2A. By binding to the specific GluN2B site, it dampens excessive glutamate signaling without completely blocking global brain excitation. It is widely used in neuroscience research to study synaptic plasticity, learning, memory, and neuroprotection.
