Description
Brimonidine tartrate is a selective alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist used to study adrenergic control of intraocular pressure and ocular signaling.
Alpha-2 adrenoceptor activation can reduce aqueous humor production and influence ocular blood flow and retinal neuronal stress responses. Brimonidine is a reference compound for glaucoma-related pharmacology and alpha-2 receptor signaling assays.
