Description
RO 28-1675 is a potent allosteric glucokinase activator with a reported EC50 value of 54 nM. It is the pharmacologically more active R-enantiomer of RO 28-0450 (Axon 1134) in comparison with S-enantiomer, RO 28-1674 (Axon 1355).
RO 28-1675 increases glucokinase glucose affinity and catalytic capacity, enhancing glucose-stimulated insulin secretion in pancreatic islets and glucose utilization in hepatocytes. It is a benchmark tool for glucose-sensing and metabolic disease research.
