Description
DAPT is a cell-permeable Gamma (γ)-secretase inhibitor (GSI) that blocks γ-secretase-mediated cleavage of Notch receptors and other γ-secretase substrates. Inhibition of γ-secretase by DAPT suppresses Notch signaling and downstream transcriptional responses involved in cell fate determination and differentiation.
γ-Secretase is a multi-subunit protease complex responsible for the processing of Notch receptors and amyloid precursor protein (APP). DAPT is one of the most widely used γ-secretase inhibitors for investigating Notch signaling, stem cell biology, developmental processes, and amyloid-related pathways in neuroscience research.
