Description
VX 770 (Ivacaftor) is an orally bioavailable potentiator of the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) chloride channel. It increases CFTR channel opening probability and improves function of gating-defective CFTR variants.
CFTR regulates epithelial chloride and bicarbonate transport in the lung, pancreas, intestine and sweat duct. VX 770 is a benchmark potentiator for cystic fibrosis research, epithelial ion transport assays and CFTR modulator pharmacology.
