Description
Omaveloxolone (RTA-408) is a synthetic triterpenoid activator of NRF2 signaling with anti-inflammatory activity. It promotes antioxidant response element-dependent transcription and suppresses NF-κB-linked inflammatory signaling.
NRF2 controls cytoprotective antioxidant, detoxification and mitochondrial stress responses through KEAP1-regulated transcriptional programs. Omaveloxolone is relevant for studying oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, inflammation and neurodegenerative disease mechanisms.
Key Features
- NRF2 pathway activator
- Synthetic triterpenoid antioxidant-response modulator
- Suppresses NF-κB-related inflammatory signaling
- Clinically relevant pharmacology in oxidative stress and mitochondrial disease contexts
Applications
- NRF2/KEAP1 pathway research
- Oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction studies
- Inflammation and cytoprotection assays
- Neurodegeneration and metabolic stress models
