Description

K 145 hydrochloride is a selective, substrate-competitive sphingosine kinase 2 (SphK2) inhibitor with reported IC50 of 4.30 µM. It suppresses sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) levels and inhibits growth of U937 tumors after intraperitoneal and oral administration in reported studies.

SphK2 regulates sphingolipid signaling, S1P production, ERK/Akt activation and cancer cell survival. K 145 is relevant for studying SphK2-selective pharmacology without direct interference with ceramide kinase or ceramide synthase in the cited assays.
