Description
Alprostadil is prostaglandin E1 (PGE1) and an agonist at prostanoid EP receptors, with reported Ki values of 36 nM, 10 nM, 1.1 nM and 2.1 nM for EP1, EP2, EP3 and EP4, respectively.
PGE1 signaling regulates vascular smooth muscle relaxation, inflammation, platelet function and tissue perfusion. Alprostadil is useful for studying prostanoid receptor pharmacology, vasodilation and cAMP-linked vascular signaling.
