Description
MK 0524 sodium salt is Laropiprant, a potent and highly selective antagonist of the prostaglandin D2 receptor DP1 (PTGDR), with a reported Ki value of 0.57 nM. It shows markedly lower affinity for the DP2/CRTH2 receptor.
Blockade of DP1 prevents prostaglandin D2-mediated vasodilation and related signaling responses. The compound is therefore useful for examining PGD2 receptor pharmacology, vascular responses and the mechanism of prostaglandin-associated flushing.
