Tenilsetam
- PAS 997 - CAS 997 - HR 029- Soluble in 0.1N HCl(aq) and DMSO
- MF: C8H10N2OS
- MW: 182.24
Description
Tenilsetam is a cognition-oriented small molecule and advanced glycation end-product formation inhibitor that interferes with glycation-associated protein cross-linking.
Tenilsetam has been reported to react with glycated proteins and reduce further AGE polymerization, a process relevant to aging, diabetes and neurodegeneration. It is used to study protein glycation, amyloid-associated inflammation and cognitive dysfunction.
Key Features
- Inhibits advanced glycation end-product formation
- Reduces glycation-associated protein cross-linking
- Nootropic pharmacology in preclinical and clinical research
- Relevant to AGE-linked inflammation and neurodegeneration
Applications
- AGE formation and Maillard-reaction assays
- Protein glycation and cross-linking studies
- Diabetic complication models
- Cognition and Alzheimer disease research
