Description
U-50488 hydrochloride is a highly selective non-peptide kappa opioid receptor (KOR) agonist. It has been reported to stimulate adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) release through hypothalamic arginine vasopressin and corticotropin-releasing factor pathways.
Kappa opioid receptors regulate nociception, stress responses, neuroendocrine signaling and affective behavior. U-50488 hydrochloride is a standard tool for kappa opioid receptor activation and HPA-axis-related opioid pharmacology.
U-50488 hydrochloride is the preferred water-soluble salt form, suitable for laboratory applications.
