Description

8-Hydroxy-DPAT hydrobromide is a standard selective 5-HT1A receptor agonist. The racemate is widely used as a serotonergic tool compound, with the R-(+)-enantiomer (Axon 1016) being more active than the S-(-)-enantiomer (Axon 1017).

5-HT1A receptors regulate serotonergic neurotransmission, mood-related pathways, thermoregulation and neuronal excitability. 8-Hydroxy-DPAT hydrobromide is commonly used to activate 5-HT1A receptors in in vitro and in vivo pharmacology models.
