Description

CPTH2 is a cell-permeable inhibitor of the histone acetyltransferase GCN5/KAT2A and a modulator of GCN5-dependent chromatin signaling. It reduces histone acetylation, including H3K14 acetylation, and alters transcriptional programs controlled by GCN5-containing complexes.

CPTH2 is used to investigate lysine acetylation, chromatin regulation and the biological consequences of suppressing GCN5 activity in yeast and mammalian cells. Because histone-acetyltransferase inhibitors can show context-dependent selectivity, direct acetylation and target-engagement readouts are recommended.
