ARN 509
- Apalutamide - JNJ-56021927- Soluble in DMSO
- MF: C21H15F4N5O2S
- MW: 477.43
Description
ARN 509 (Apalutamide) is a potent competitive androgen receptor (AR) antagonist. It inhibits androgen-dependent AR signaling and is pharmacologically relevant to both castration-sensitive and castration-resistant prostate cancer models.
Androgen receptor signaling drives prostate epithelial biology and prostate cancer growth. ARN 509 is used to investigate AR blockade, ligand-dependent transcriptional regulation and resistance mechanisms in hormone-driven oncology research.
Key Features
- Potent androgen receptor antagonist
- Blocks androgen-dependent AR signaling
- Relevant to prostate cancer pharmacology
- Useful for hormone-driven transcriptional pathway studies
Applications
- Androgen receptor binding and transcription assays
- Prostate cancer model research
- Castration-resistant prostate cancer studies
- Antiandrogen drug-response profiling
