Description
Lenalidomide is an immunomodulatory drug (IMiD) that binds cereblon (CRBN) and alters CRL4CRBN E3 ligase substrate recognition, promoting degradation of lymphoid transcription factors such as IKZF1 and IKZF3.
Through cereblon-dependent and immune-modulatory mechanisms, lenalidomide affects cytokine production, T-cell and NK-cell responses, angiogenesis and malignant plasma-cell survival. It is widely used as a reference compound in hematology, oncology and targeted protein degradation research.
