Description

Tafamids is a small-molecule inhibitor that binds selectively to the transthyretin (TTR) protein in human plasma and kinetically stabilizes the tetrameric structure of both wild-type TTR and a number of different mutants. Tafamidis is an oral medication for treating cardiomyopathy and peripheral neuropathy due to transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTR). It is a transthyretin stabilizer and has been shown to reduce disease progression and mortality significantly.
