EMPA

Axon 2012
CAS:  680590-49-2
Purity:  99%
  • Soluble in DMSO and EtOH
  • MF:  C23H26N4O4S
  • MW:  454.54

Description

EMPA is a highly potent and selective orexin type 2 receptor (OX2R/HCRTR2) antagonist with reported Ki activity of 1 nM at OX2 and >900 nM at OX1.

Orexin receptors regulate arousal, sleep-wake stability, reward pathways and autonomic functions. EMPA is useful for selectively probing OX2 receptor pharmacology in CNS signaling and sleep-related experimental models.

Key Features

  • Selective OX2 receptor antagonist
  • Reported Ki: 1 nM at OX2
  • Strong selectivity over OX1 receptor binding
  • Useful for orexin system pharmacology

Applications

  • OX2 receptor binding assays
  • Sleep-wake pathway research
  • CNS neuropeptide signaling studies
  • Orexin receptor antagonist profiling
