Description
EMPA is a highly potent and selective orexin type 2 receptor (OX2R/HCRTR2) antagonist with reported Ki activity of 1 nM at OX2 and >900 nM at OX1.
Orexin receptors regulate arousal, sleep-wake stability, reward pathways and autonomic functions. EMPA is useful for selectively probing OX2 receptor pharmacology in CNS signaling and sleep-related experimental models.
Key Features
- Selective OX2 receptor antagonist
- Reported Ki: 1 nM at OX2
- Strong selectivity over OX1 receptor binding
- Useful for orexin system pharmacology
Applications
- OX2 receptor binding assays
- Sleep-wake pathway research
- CNS neuropeptide signaling studies
- Orexin receptor antagonist profiling
