Description
ZLN 024 is an allosteric activator of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). It activates AMPK heterotrimers without directly affecting mitochondrial function or cellular AMP/ATP ratios in reported studies.
AMPK is a central metabolic sensor that coordinates glucose uptake, fatty-acid oxidation, mitochondrial homeostasis and energy stress responses. ZLN 024 is useful for studying AMPK activation in metabolic and cardiometabolic research models.
Key Features
- Allosteric AMPK activator
- Reported EC50 values: 0.42 µM for α1β1γ1 and 0.95 µM for α2β1γ1 AMPK
- Activates AMPK without directly altering mitochondrial respiration in reported assays
- Modulates metabolic signaling and energy homeostasis pathways
Applications
- AMPK pathway research
- Metabolic disease and glucose homeostasis models
- Energy-stress signaling assays
- Cardiometabolic pharmacology studies
