SMI 481
- 6748-481- Soluble in DMSO
- MF: C17H15ClFN3O3
- MW: 363.77
Description
SMI 481 is a small-molecule inhibitor of the yeast phosphatidylinositol transfer protein (PITP) Sec14 with IC50 values of 211 nM for Sec14-mediated [3H]PtdIns transfer and 2.87 μM for Sec14-dependent cell growth inhibition. It shows pathway-selective inhibition of phosphoinositide signaling in cells.
Sec14-like phosphatidylinositol transfer proteins regulate lipid exchange and phosphoinositide signaling. SMI 481 is useful for investigating PITP-directed small molecules and lipid-transfer-dependent cellular signaling.
Key Features
- Sec14 phosphatidylinositol transfer protein (PITP) inhibitor
- IC50: 211 nM for Sec14-mediated PtdIns transfer
- Inhibits Sec14-dependent cell growth
- Selective over other yeast Sec14-like transfer activities in reported assays
Applications
- PITP/Sec14 pharmacology
- Phosphoinositide signaling studies
- Lipid-transfer protein assays
- Chemical genetics of membrane lipid signaling
