Description
Blonanserin (AD5423) is a potent dopamine D2 and serotonin 5-HT2A receptor antagonist with Ki values of 0.14 nM at human D2L receptors and 0.81 nM at 5-HT2A receptors. It shows weak adrenergic α1 affinity and virtually no dopamine D1 affinity.
Combined dopamine D2 and serotonin 5-HT2A antagonism is a key mechanism in atypical antipsychotic pharmacology. Blonanserin is useful for studying CNS receptor selectivity and antipsychotic-relevant signaling profiles.
