Description
Bifeprunox mesylate is a dopamine D2 receptor partial agonist and serotonin 5-HT1A receptor agonist with a receptor profile relevant to atypical antipsychotic pharmacology.
Dual modulation of dopaminergic and serotonergic signaling is pharmacologically relevant for studies of psychosis, affective symptoms and CNS circuit regulation. Bifeprunox is useful in assays that compare D2 partial agonism with 5-HT1A-mediated effects on neurotransmission.
