Description
Atglistatin is a potent and selective inhibitor of adipose triglyceride lipase (ATGL/PNPLA2) with an IC50 value of 0.7 μM. It reduces fatty-acid mobilization while showing selectivity over hormone-sensitive lipase, monoglyceride lipase, pancreatic lipase, lipoprotein lipase and related PNPLA lysophospholipases.
ATGL catalyzes the first step of intracellular triglyceride hydrolysis and is central to lipid mobilization. Atglistatin is a valuable tool for studying lipolysis, fatty-acid release and triglyceride metabolism in metabolic disease models.
