Description
BAY 58-2667 hydrochloride (Cinaciguat) is a potent nitric oxide-independent soluble guanylyl cyclase (sGC) activator with reported Ki of 6–8 nM in competition binding studies. It preferentially activates oxidized or haem-free sGC by binding the haem pocket and mimicking NO-bound haem activation.
sGC/cGMP signaling controls vascular tone, platelet function and cardiopulmonary hemodynamics. BAY 58-2667 is relevant for studying NO-independent vasodilatory pharmacology and heart-failure pathway biology.
