Description
IMS 2186 is an anti-proliferative and anti-angiogenic compound reported to induce apoptosis, block the cell cycle at G2 and inhibit production of inflammatory mediators including PGE2 and TNF-α.
IMS 2186 has been investigated as a long-acting small-molecule approach to choroidal neovascularization and other angiogenesis-linked processes. It is useful for studying links between cell-cycle control, apoptosis and inflammatory mediator production.
Key Features
- Apoptosis-inducing anti-proliferative compound
- Blocks cell-cycle progression at G2
- Reported to inhibit PGE2 and TNF-α production
- Relevant to anti-angiogenic and anti-CNV research
Applications
- Cell-cycle arrest and apoptosis studies
- Anti-angiogenesis assay development
- PGE2 and TNF-α mediator profiling
- Choroidal neovascularization research models
