Description
Venlafaxine hydrochloride is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) that inhibits monoamine transporter-mediated reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine.
Venlafaxine is a clinically established antidepressant and a useful reference compound for monoamine transporter pharmacology, SNRI metabolism and active metabolite profiling.
Key Features
- SNRI targeting serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake
- Reference compound for monoamine transporter pharmacology
- Clinically established antidepressant mechanism
- Parent compound for multiple venlafaxine metabolite standards
Applications
- SERT and NET transporter assays
- Antidepressant mechanism research
- Drug metabolism and pharmacokinetic studies
- Analytical comparison with venlafaxine metabolites
