Description
S-(+)-O-Desmethylvenlafaxine is the S-(+)-enantiomer of O-desmethylvenlafaxine, the active metabolite of venlafaxine and a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI).
SNRIs inhibit serotonin and norepinephrine transporters to modulate monoaminergic neurotransmission. S-(+)-O-Desmethylvenlafaxine is useful as a metabolite reference for venlafaxine pharmacology, enantioselective profiling and transporter assays.
